Colleen and Domenic’s Warrington Country Club wedding fell on a hot day at the end of June. Colleen and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the bridal suite of Warrington Country Club when we arrived. We grabbed her dress, veil and shoes and headed out to explore the country club. The lobby entrance had tons of natural light so we took advantage of the space. When we returned to the suite, the bridesmaids were dressed and it was time for Colleen to put on her gown. Colleen wore an A-line gown covered in lace with a cathedral length veil with embroidered flower edging. I especially loved her plum colored heels to match her bridesmaids. We handed her the gorgeous bouquet filled with red and purple roses, white hydrangeas and purple and white calla lilies from Domenic Graziano’s Flowers and began her portraits. Her mom, bridesmaids and flower girls watched with smiles and maybe a few tears. Then we head upstairs to find Domenic.
I had never met Dom, but knew to look for the super tall guy with dark hair…I found him! He was dressed in a very cool plaid suit with a plum colored tie. The groomsmen wore beige suits with plum ties and they all looked great. I grabbed a few portraits of Dom before taking him outside to get ready for the couple’s first look. While I set him up outside under a beautiful oak tree, my assistant went to get Colleen. I could see the excitement in Dom’s eyes while he waited for his bride. They both lit up when they saw each other! After a few minutes, we set off for portraits. There was a super cute swing hanging from the tree that the couple loved so we started there. They were a little nervous about sitting on it, but it held up just fine. After their portraits, we sent them inside to cool off before the ceremony.
The ceremony site was on the side lawn of the Warrington Country Club and was surrounded by beautiful flowers. Father Charles Magee officiated and Colleen and Dom exchanged vows under a lovely white pergola in front of their family and friends. Afterwards we made quick work of bridal party and family formals because it was hot. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the large bar area overlooking the country club grounds before heading in the ballroom for the reception. The tables featured tall centerpieces of glass vases filled with hydrangeas and roses. Once everyone was seated, DJ Scott from Signature DJs announced the parents, wedding party and then the bride and groom. Everyone cheered as Colleen and Dom took the floor for their first dance. It was almost like the couple was all alone as they gazed into each other’s eyes as they danced to “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur. They then invited everyone onto the floor for “What Is Love” by Haddaway. After a blessing, toasts by the maid of honor and best man and the first course, Colleen danced with her dad to “Daughter” by Loudon Wainwright and then Domenic danced with his mom to “The Man You Have Become” by Susan Yates.
After dinner DJ Scott filled the dance floor. We saw tons of great dance moves and tons of fun props being used at the photo booth from Smiles Gone Wild, which was a huge hit. When it was time to cut the cake, everyone gathered around the amazing four-tiered cake from HF Hornberger’s Bakery that featured purple flowers, a Bat Signal and a “to the moon and back” cake topper. When it comes to cake cuttings, this was a fun one…Domenic and Colleen both smashed cake into the other’s face and the crowd loved it! After sealing it with a messy kiss and getting cleaned up, Colleen tossed her bouquet and Dom retrieved and threw the garter. Dom’s little nephew caught the garter so DJ Scott had the good idea to have him put it onto the bouquet catchers arm instead of leg. I then took Colleen and Dom outside for a few last portraits. They both had the scent of cake in their noses and love in their eyes.
It was such a pleasure to photograph such a beautiful wedding for such beautiful people. Colleen and Dom’s love shined throughout the day and also their photos. Please enjoy the highlights and slideshow below.
